Greetings from the Textbook Department!

Early Adoption Program

Thank you to every department that has submited their textbook adoptions for classes scheduled for Fall 2008. We are will in the process of determining which department will be awarded the $1000 gift.

How will this save students money?

Simply put, early textbook orders mean more used books, and used books are cheaper than new books. The earlier an order is submitted, the better chance we have of getting used books from wholesale suppliers and at student buyback. At the end of the semester, students receive a higher price for books that will be used again in the following semester-up to 50% of what they paid for the book. In order to do this, however, we need to have your book orders before buyback begins.Book buyback begins May 12th.

How can the Bookstore afford to do this?

Late orders are more costly for the Bookstore. On average, over the past four semesters, only half of book orders were received before the start of textbook buyback. Despite our best efforts to rush late book orders, many students start each semester without textbooks needed for their courses. Timely submitted orders not only save students money and eliminate unnecessary extra costs; they also help our students begin the term with their needed materials.
